We are seeking a Regional Fixed Asset Accountant to join our team at our North American headquarters in Perrysburg, OH.
This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day project activity and fixed asset activity for North America and Corporate company codes in SAP. This will include administering the complete life-cycle of projects and fixed assets from creation through retirement or disposal including settling of projects to Fixed Assets, calculating actual depreciation and providing forecasts of depreciation to the Finance leads in plants and Corporate departments with Fixed Assets, reconciling fixed asset values to General Ledger balances and SOX controls.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
(All other duties as assigned)
Allocate regional capital budget to individual projects in Corporate company codes.
Create projects with budgets from approved 901s in Corporate company codes.
Work with Project Managers and Regional Project Coordinators to identify projects ready for settlement.
Create and maintain fixed assets for North America and Corporate company codes including additions, transfers and retirements.
Carry out monthly project settlements to Fixed Assets and General Ledger accounts Run depreciation schedule in SAP and provide depreciation simulations to Finance to use in their financial forecasts.
Execute SOX Control Framework and sign off on all responsible controls.
Provide ad hoc fixed asset reporting
Provide input on process and governance for Fixed Assets and aspects of projects that feed into Fixed Assets
SCOPE AND IMPACT:
Scope: Familiarity and involvement with all aspects of projects and fixed assets (i.e. master data, budgets and actuals). This position needs to be familiar with responsibilities of Regional Project Coordinators in North America and members of the Finance Team in North America and Corporate
Impact: Accurate set up and transaction accounting for projects and Fixed Assets.
Position Requirements
EDUCATION AND
Experience:
Bachelors Degree in accounting or finance required
3-5 years previous general accounting experience
Must have an understanding of accounting principles, working knowledge of recording, examining and analyzing data and financial transactions.
Must be process oriented and have the ability to review current processes, identify improvement opportunities, implement and document changes.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize assignments and to work under the pressure of deadlines.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced skills in Excel
Experience with SAP preferred
High degree of confidentiality
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
This position reports to the Manager Process Improvement.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Minimal travel required.
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
